I'm so loved! I had a great birthday on the 23rd. Ali Pili watched Isaac for me in the morning and they made a carrot, pineapple, raisin cake with cream cheese frosting! De-lish!
We went to library time, then to lunch at Sadie's with some friends. We went high-class with dinner at Carl's Jr. (hello, $6 Bacon Guac Burger.)Then home for cake.
Look at that BLAZE! I left two candles burning after the first breath. (Does that mean I'm going to have two children? Too late!)
The best part was that my children were so nice to me that day.
And the best best part was that Ephraim and Ella had practiced a song on the ukulele to sing to me.
And the best best best part is that I love where I'm at and who I'm with and what I'm doing at 31.

My birthday's tomorrow and I'm turning the big 3-0. I was mentioning that to Xander (he's 4), and he said, whoa, you're going to have to have a really big cake to fit all of those candles! We ended up skimping and only used 5 when we celebrated tonight, so I was pretty impressed to see that you did all 31--what a blaze for sure!
Happy Birthday (a bit late). I had a carrot cake for my 31st Birthday a few weeks ago too! I'm glad things are going well and that you are happy and with the people that matter the most. What more can you ask for?

we've never done all the candles as we've gotten older either. we usually do the number of candles for each digit-- like this year, i had 3 candles on one side and 4 on the other for 34! makes me feel younger, i guess (and won't burn my house down)!
