We're moving to Utah in June. Ephraim’s been pondering what to do for about a year
now. We finally have an answer
that feels right. He’s going back
to school to be a Physicians Assistant.
He needs 3 prerequisite classes and experience hours before we apply. In Utah we can stay with my mom and dad, and there
are lots of opportunities. We’ll
apply for PA school next year, and then start in 2015 for two years. The schools he's looking at are in the
east. After that we'll be able to
go wherever there are openings. So
we won't be in Utah forever. It’s
just a pit stop.
Things have been tumbling into place, as we get more
information. The idea was planted
around Christmas time by a PA friend of ours. Since then it has simmered. In February he interviewed for a Sea Grant job in Hawaii
on the Big Island, but he was
their #2 pick. He had applied
in other places for similar positions, but we really wanted to go to Hawaii. It just didn't happen. And now we're really okay with it
because he’s always been
interested in medicine, and he is very excited about this change.
The kids are really excited to see snow, and we're really excited to be close to family. This is an answer to many years of prayer, and we're praying that all will go well with our new plans.
We've had an amazing experience in American Samoa. It will always be a big part of who we are.
Here's what we looked like when we came in 2007.
And what we look like nowadays in 2013.

Oh wow! This is HUGE! These decisions take so much prayer, energy and courage - good for you guys, finding something that feels like a great match for you! I think we've got some super PA programs here in the middle region of North Carolina, and we've LOVED living here. A great place for families. We will probably be moving on too, next year in May when Marcos graduates, so we may be ships passing in the night, but it's a great area if you need a recommendation. Best of luck! I hope that everything falls into place as you are making changes.
Thanks Metta. We may end up in NC. I admit I haven't looked there yet. I'm looking for programs that will accept my classes over 5-7 years old. Those are typically on the east side of the country and I've found several so far. Thanks for the NC plug and voucher :)
We are LDS and are moving there in the next few weeks. Would LOVE more info. about the branch, medical services, etc. Is there a way I could contact you?
sdtenney, you're welcome to email me at melinda(dot)temple(at)gmail...
Hey, Temple family! I can't believe I never made it out there to visit you guys, and now it's too late. :-) But what an exciting new chapter for your family! Maybe not exciting like moving to a tropical island, starting a new school there, etc., but exciting none the less. :-) Have you guys talked to Monette and Aaron about the PA stuff? He might have some helpful hints on the application process, etc... Can't wait to see where you end up! Love ya...
