On Saturday the 16th we hiked out to Airport Beach which is located on the ocean side of the runway.
The trail from Maliu Mai goes past blowholes and natural arches.
Kailani and Ella hiked pretty well on the way there.
They loved to watch the water spray from the blowholes.
There were two old bunkers along the way.
We finally made it to the beach. There's really no shade, so we had to use umbrellas and lavalavas for shelter. The snorkeling was nice. But the next time we go, we'll leave the kids behind and wear a lot more sunscreen.
The beach was hardly worth the burn. Ouch!

Hey friends! Howz it! Long time no talk eh? What are you guys doing in Samoa? What's your email so I can invite you to our blog...
Aloha,
Dan, Janee, and Maya Pousson
cute pic of ella!! Bummer about the sunburn, I can't believe she hasn't turned into a brown little bean yet though! I love her semi-scowl mixed with a little smile... so cute!
Looks like some good cliff jumping off that arch, and snorkeling. Reminds me of the caves out at Makaha. Adam, Scott and I checked it out and jumped last summer. Lots of fun arches and caves to swim through too. Jesse
I guess the perspective makes the cliffs look a little bigger than they really are. It's only about a ten-foot jump. but the water is very inviting, aside from the fact that one of the islands sewage outfall pipes juts out right at this area. We swam at a beach quite a ways into the distance in that arch picture. Away from the solids settlement site and pipe.
Looks like going down to Kaloli point! Especially with the grass meeting the lava rock like on the way to Pebble beach. You guys really take advantage of your weekends--good job!
Ok, seriously...do you guys do anything on this island besides have fun? Seriously!
